PennDOT Announces They Will Host Virtual and In-Person Public Meetings for the Bristol Road Extension Project in Bucks County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to attend a live virtual public meeting on Wednesday, November 5, and an in-person open house meeting with project plans on display on Thursday, November 13, for the upcoming project to construct a new Bristol Road extension affecting New Britain Township, Chalfont Borough, and New Britain Borough.

To accommodate changes in traffic patterns from extending Bristol Road, additional improvements are proposed including minor widening for turn lanes at the Park Avenue and Main Street intersection in Chalfont, and a realignment of the Park Avenue, Ferry Road, and Callowhill Road intersection in New Britain Township. The Park-Ferry-Callowhill intersection will transition from a three-way stop sign-controlled intersection to a signalized intersection. Turn lanes are also proposed at this intersection for each approach.

The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve mobility for the traveling public and emergency services by addressing the existing roadway deficiencies and expanding the local roadway network.

As part of PennDOT’s project outreach, the department encourages the public to attend the live virtual public meeting on Wednesday, November 5, beginning at 7:00 PM, by clicking on this Microsoft Live Teams meeting link prior to the presentation start time. PennDOT’s design team will deliver a project presentation before opening the meeting to questions using the platform’s Q&A feature.

Please note that internet access or a computer or mobile device are required to view the virtual meeting. Anyone with special needs or requiring special aid is requested to contact PennDOT Consultant Design Project Manager Nathan Parrish at 610-757-1881.

Members of the public who are unable to join the online meeting, can attend an in-person public meeting on Thursday, November 13, beginning at 6:30 PM at Unami Middle School located at 160 Moyer Road, Chalfont, PA 18914.

The meeting will be conducted as an open house where citizens will have the opportunity to circulate among the subject plan displays to gather information and discuss the different facets of the project with PennDOT’s design team.

PennDOT invites members of the public who are unable to attend the online or in-person meetings to view the virtual meeting recording and a copy of the materials on their project webpage. The public can also provide feedback using PennDOT’s online comment form.
